Here are the highlights of this episode:

Ian has shared with us his two types of ideal clients. He loves to work with people on a one-to-one basis and also with the SME market, anyone who's struggling or wants to take their business into the next level. He also enjoys working with large corporations that are looking for a fun, upbeat, and motivational business speaker that can come up to the stage and talk about leadership, management, or anything that can help their team. With these clients, it's not so much the problem that they're facing but it's what Ian can do to help them. His primary goal is to help them to become healthier, wealthier, and happier. Ian stated that clients should be "fifth" on your list; you should be first, then family, team members, the business, and followed by customers. Those who are struggling are either time-poor, money-poor, or they're people poor. Meaning that these business owners don't have enough time, they're not earning enough money, and they just can't find the right people. Another thing that Ian observes is that these people are spending so much time 'trying to do' instead of spending time understanding on who they need to be. He explains that the 'do' is a very shallow activity, while the 'be' is the stuff that sits below the water line (who do they need to be in order to achieve what they want?) and we overlook all of the 'be' stuff because it is tough. They should spend time understanding who they need to be. From his previous training, two words that really blew him away which is YOU CHOOSE; two of the most profound and powerful words in both business and in life. It's all about 100% responsibility. Tell yourself that "I have no right not to be the best person that I can be every single day, and that's a choice that I make." Nobody puts you in a good or bad mood, nobody should make choices for you.

Ian’s Valuable Free Action (VFA): Invest time weekly in becoming a better person educationally, invest time in yourself. Ian shared that the  big lesson for him 16 years ago was personal development. He allocated 3 hours a week to personal development time. Never wish for your life to be easier, but wish that you were better. And you work hard on yourself and then you do your job, quoted by Jim Rohn's that Ian lives by.

My primary goal is to help make them (clients) healthier, wealthier, and happier" – Ian Dickson
